Listings

An alphabetical, labelled listing that is not a ranking and never will be

Paid listings for museums, libraries, learning organisations and children's cultural programmes, sold on disclosed facts.

What this is

A place where museums, libraries, learning organisations and children's cultural programmes can buy a listing. Listings are published in alphabetical order, labelled as paid, and consist of disclosed, verifiable facts about the organisation: what it is, where it is, what it runs, opening arrangements, cost, and access provision.

What it is not

It is not a ranking. It carries no score, no star, no badge and no editorial comment, because we have not assessed anybody's provision and a ranked list produced without assessment is an opinion dressed as a conclusion. Appearing here does not mean we recommend an organisation. It means they have paid to appear and their facts have been checked.

Current state: empty

There are no listings yet. We would rather say so than fill the page with organisations that have not asked to be here, which is the usual practice in directories of this kind and the reason most of them are worthless. When there are listings, they will appear below this line, alphabetically, each labelled as a paid listing.

Criteria, rates and refusals

What an organisation must disclose to be listed, what a listing costs, what the money cannot buy and what we will not list at any price are all published at criteria and rates.

Why this model

Because the alternative revenue models in this subject all involve recommending things to parents, and we have taken the view that a magazine about the evidence should not be paid by the people whose claims it examines. A listing sold on facts, published alphabetically and clearly labelled, is about as far from an editorial recommendation as a commercial arrangement can be placed. The reasoning is set out on the about page.

No commercial links. This article contains no affiliate links, no sponsored mentions and no links to any commercial client. Nothing in it has been paid for, and no organisation has seen it before publication. Little Minds Magazine recommends no products to parents. Published by Northbank Media. Our two declared revenue lines, paid listings and a labelled newsletter sponsor, are described in full on the about page and cannot influence any evidence framing on this site.

The Little Minds letter

One email a fortnight. What we have published, one thing we changed our mind about, and one piece of research worth reading properly. No advice, no products and no guilt.

We use your address for the letter and nothing else, and we never pass it to a sponsor. Details in privacy.

Sponsor lineEach issue carries one clearly labelled sponsor line, sold at a published rate. It sits below the editorial and can buy nothing else.
